Renault Paint Warrently??

I have 2 bits of paint missing from my car bonnet. my car is a 64 plate had this just over a month now. I took my car to Renault and they say nothing they can do because a stone has done this.

To be fair to them they have said they would touch it up but that's all they can do.

Surely if the paint it protected stones should be able to take full chunk of paint of my bonnet???

Re: Renault Paint Warrently??

Considering stones thrown up from the road at an impact of 120 mph or more would be like asking is the paint bullet proof.

Re: Renault Paint Warrently??

just think what a stone can do to a windscreen the bonnet only has a thin layer of paint a good tip that will help a little is layers of wax
as they have offered to touch it up i would go for it asap before they change there minds

Re: Renault Paint Warrently??

The paint warranty is only for 2 things.
Physical damage doesnt come into it.
One is for the colour staying true, ,no laquer peel and so on in normal conditions.
The other /12 year thing is no corrosion/lifting from below.

Theyre really just ,if you park the car all year round in a atmospherically controlled temp garage ,wi no road salts/condensation etc ,you could be good for 12 years .

Anything else forget it.Any accident damage,no matter how well its repaired,,bye.
Stone chips/underbody physical penetration/wheelarch wear n tear ..bye.
You also have to have a renault paint check at least once a year to maintain even the 3-4 year guarantee.

Re: Renault Paint Warrently??

The paint warranty won't protect against any external factor, such as bird droppings, tree sap, stones or vandalism.

It's purely to cover the quality of the materials used and the quality of its application, at the factory.

This job should never be complete - the day I think I've done it all, is the day I resign.
