smothing over the locks is a popular thing to do amongst a select group of young gentlemen. it only gives the car smoother lines, and they reley upon the remote locking to open and close the car.

try and gentally tap around the area where there should be a keyhole, and if theres a different tone in a certain spot then yous have been smoothed over i would guess.

Renault started to phase them out in 2003 iirc (cost cutting reasons probably). Many after 2003 don't have the drivers side keyhole.

You'll notice that you both have a passenger door lock because for the European markets that side is their drivers door

My 2003 Clio has'nt got a passenger door lock either, this is normal as stated above.

Thanks for the replies, Just wondering as it seemed a little odd & a nuisance when the fob battery died

If only Renault had cut cost's on the passenger side instead.
