Quick Question, 2000 clio driver door & RCL

Ive just bought (my first car) a 2000 clio. There was only really one problem with it. Firstly, the RCL doesn't seem to lock the driver door, but it does every other.. so you gotta use the key on it.

Finally, the driver door handle seems a bit awkward to open - as in it takes a few times at a certain speed before it opens, im assuming a catch issue?

Does anyone know what the problems could be, and how easily I could fix it, or how much it'd be if I took it to a garage. I'm assuming its something quite small?

Also a few stone chips on it but I plan to iron them out with a touch-up kit; anyone had any luck with these?

(Ok, so maybe two..)
Finally, I did notice the gearstick seems to move a little on its own when accelerating.. is this normal? My dad test drove it and he said it was fine, but I've never seen it happen before?

Hi Lordmuggins and welcome
I would try squirting some WD40 onto your sticking door handle i.e underneath where the handle hinges go through the door skin and if possible remove the door card and check, lubricate all moving parts. Also the key hole

As for the gearstick movement my mk2 also did this and didnt give me any problems.

When I do the lock with the internal thing, I dont hear a big 'clunk' on the driver door like I do on the rest. So I suspect something is loose. When I close the door I can hear a vibration of something too. Also when I put the window up, it makes a weird noise as if somethings pushing it.

I'll maybe get it looked over when I can actually start to drive it. I'm also suspecting the rear window heater isn't working as it doesn't seem to work.. maybe I didn't leave it long enough though

hi lordmuggins. the movement of your gearstick under acceleration could be caused by a worn torque take uo arm.this bolts between the subframe and the gearbox
