Hello, I've recently noticed that I have water sloshing around in my rear passenger side door on my Laguna 2 sport tourer. I've removed the plug at the bottom of the food and cleaned it then put it back in, for some reason I'm still getting water inside??
All seals etc look fine!!
Does anyone have any ideas??
I've attached a picture, are these drain holes on the door?? I'm not sure "/
Hi sorry for the long delay in seeing your post, the drain holes for the door are underneath the rubber sealing strip, best remove this, its held on with 3 plastic plugs, this will reveal the actual hole in the metal body of the door these fill with road s@¥t and cause the blockage.
I'm afraid my memory is vague now on my previous Laguna's, but on the Mk2 Megane the door drains were right at the bottom edge (which makes sense) iirc they were elongated holes, a pipe cleaner might sort them if they're blocked.
The drains are behind the seals. I think the holes in the seals are just to let the air out.
I find that pulling the seals away from the door and cleaning thoroughly behind and underneath them does the trick. No need to remove them.
When they're blocked the rain just drains straight over the sills, as you've noticed, and the doors sound like fishtanks.
That's right I take the rubber strips off completely to give the blighters a dam good clean, stops that extra build up of crud happening then clean the 3 holes out
