Faulty pop up headlamp wash

Is anybody familiar with the workings of the pop up headlamp washers on xenon equipped vehicles? They both come up to wash the headlamps on my Vel Satis but the left hand one refuses to go down without my assistance.
I went to have a poke at the internals when it sprang back in and trapped my finger! I thought they would just work on pressure to come up and then go back in when you come off the washer stalk?

Same thing happens on Lagunas, the only cure is to replace the entire unit, thats both sides Laguna ones cost 80ish not so sur about Velsatis ones. You can read post on here about lubricating them but that doesnt work. if you are confident with the spanners its an easy bumber off job( well on the Lag expect the velsatis is similair)

Hope that helps

Pragmatix is spot on with his answer, Renaults only supply the whole washer kit which has 2 new washers and all the pipework.

As he says lubrication might work for a short time but the only answer is new ones.

Have a read of this thread.......
