Thumbs up Fuel filler flap removal **Sorted**

Anyone know how to remove the fuel filler flap on a mk2 Clio?
I have a small amount of rust appearing at the point it is attached to the rear wing but can't work out how to remove it.
I can see a coup!e of bolt heads, about 10mm but they are covered by the plastic hinge. Looked under the wheel arch and can see the ends of two screws.
I can't see how to remove it without breaking it.
It's probably obvious to someone, but not me.

Have a look at the picture on this listing for the same part - which might help point out a method for you.

Hi Paul
Thanks for the reply.
That picture shows the part I need to remove, but the two bolt heads are recessed in plastic with no access. I can only assume that the plastic unclips some how to give access. As your picture shows its attached from the front, therefore it must be accessible.
I'll give it a go.

Thanks.

It may be that the boot trim needs removal to allow full access.

Best of luck, and let us know how you fare.

re: Fuel filler flap removal **Sorted**

Sorry about the late reply, l lost the post.
Back of the filler is not in the boot, but inside the wheel arch. Looked inside there and can see the ends of two screws. Therefore the screws must be removed from outside of the filler. Only problem is, the hexagonal heads sit inside two recesses which form part of the plastic hinge.
I'll try and upload a photo.
