laguna 1, 2.0 rxe auto, year 2000 headlamp covers

I'm not sure but i think my headlights have those plastic tinted stone protection covers on them.

I was cleaning it the other day and noticed they had become sort of cloudy / dirty on the inside.

I tried to take them off to clean them as there was a little flat spring clip holding each one on.

After prising each one off, i noticed they had a mastic seal around them, so it doesnt look like a simple job.

As stated in the title box. it's a year 2000 model, and so i am told, won of the last ones to be manufactured, which usually means, they whack on any parts left in the parts bins as it's the outgoing model!

Can any of you help me on this as the brightness of the lights is definitely affected.

If they are sealed on,it isn't covers,it's the lenses themselves. They do unfortunately have a tendeny to discolour over the years, and you can either attack them with some very fine wet and dry paper and polish or buy some new headlights.

I'm sure this has been covered on the forum before so if you do a search you should come up with the right info.If not,get back to us and we'll point you in the right direction.

I've heard of T-cut being used to remove the discoloration but I think that was for headlamp covers
