Re: Laguna 11 Rear door handle

The back section should come out, you might have to put a screwdriver under it, and slight twist
The screw was located behind a plastic grommet

Question Re: Laguna 11 Rear door handle

Did you get the handle off?

I tried removing one of the rear handles on my car just to see how they work.... after loosening the torx screw behind the plastic grommet I also found that the D shaped section wouldn't come out, I tried levering it out but gave up in the end before something got damaged.

Is there nothing else that holds the D shaped section of the handle in place? or are they just really a tight fit?

Cheers.

Re: Laguna 11 Rear door handle

Will have a go of mine on Saturday, and take pictures, but normally, the D section comes out easy, once the door handle is pulled out, into the door open position,.
Problem is, only remember cars specifically if I struggle, if the job goes accordingly , then dont tend to remember any tips/tricks I needed to use to do it.
The same with everyone, only really remember the ball aches

Re: Laguna 11 Rear door handle

Still have not got the handle off due to work commitments, occasionally tug it as I walk past but it is still stuck fast. Hopefully off this weekend so can have another go.

Re: Laguna 11 Rear door handle

Is there not a metal tab that pulls down using the access grommet like the mk3 models? Once that's done the d section is removed. To pull the door handle out it must be pushed into the car (not pulled out as if trying to open the door) and at the same time slid backwards towards the rear of the car. It can be quite stiff to unlatch it first time so it needs a good strong pull towards the back. Once it's removed (be careful with the sensor for automatic door unlocking if fitted) there's acces to the front torx screw which completely releases the whole door assembly. Once again take care unlatching the two cables.
Hope some of this information is useful, sorry I've only removed a handle on a mk3 scenic but assume it must be similar.
