Re: Need advice on repair

Or could it be caused by someone carrying tools in their back pocket .... that could explain why its similar both sides if the same person has been doing something both sides of the car.

Re: Need advice on repair

have you checked the seat belt buckles, any paint on them ?

I once had a mechanic sit on my seats and left oil /grease on them.
It soaked into the leather & despite cleaning feeding etc. even now 25 years later you can still see the colour difference in those patches.

driver side yes, theres a tiny chip on the door which lines up perfectly with the pillar. But nothing on passenger door.

Re: Need advice on repair

IMO passenger side doesn't look like seat belt, too close to the bolt to allow the metal part of the belt make such a big scratch. This might be caused by someone getting into passenger's seat to use CLIP. Not sure if it could be done by CLIP probe itself.

Re: Need advice on repair

had another call from Renault today. Best they can offer is to pay 70% of the cost. So I will need to pay 54 total for the repair plus courtesy car. Not what I expected but better than previously.
