Access to Engine bay

I have created a really stupid problem for myself by reverse parking my Megane (2005, 3dr 2.0T) in a garage too close to the passenger side wall. Without charge in the battery I can't trigger the central locking so can't get in through the driver's door. I have just about managed to lean over and unlock the passenger door with the emergency access key. While the door opens, the space is too tight to stick my arm or anything inside to latch the bonnet open.

I have thought long and hard but cannot figure any solution out, except for breaking the front grill and hoping to latch the bonnet open without causing further damage. Once inside I can easily charge the battery to gain full access.

Other suggestions that I have heard are-

Break the window (don't like this idea)

Try to locate the bonnet latch cable through the wheelarch (space is too tight on the passenger side)

Pull the car out somehow (handbrake is on, and steering wheel is locked in a non-straight position)

Call the AA (what will they do??)

I have barely stopped laughing at myself for putting my car in this situation, but need to figure some solution out. So just to be clear, I am asking for your help in breaking into my own car!

Regards

Hammad

Re: Access to Engine bay

if you have AA home start they can easily sort this using jack and or wheel dollies / skid and will pull car from garage.

Won't your emergency key open the driver's door? Alternatively, can you not reach across from the drivers side with a long stick/hook and open the driver's door from the inside (or does it stay locked)

I would like to apologize to anyone whom I haven't offended yet. Please be patient, I will get to you shortly.

The central locking is not working because car battery is completely dry. The emergency key only works on the passenger side but there is no space to open a door. The bonnet latch is on the passenger side anyway but it's so tight that I can't stick anything in.
