Renault Clio - Wing Mirror Cover

I managed to hit my passenger side wing mirror yesterday on a Renault Clio 1.2 16V 04 Plate. The actual mirror is fine but part of the cover snapped and now the cover will only stay on using tape.

Does anyone know of any places to pick up a replacement cover - I have tried ebay but there isn't any covers, only the complete mirror unit?

Hello Adam.

If the casing is in good shape, but just won't stay in place because some of the fixing points have been broken - there is a product I can personally recommend to repair this.

It is called Tiger Seal, and is a PU adhesive used to fix bodykits & spoilers onto cars - definitely up to the task of a plastic mirror housing.

Use the glue very sparingly (more on the wing mirror, than the casing) and you will need to use a bit of masking tape for a few hours to allow it to set in place.

It can be messy (thinners will remove any excess), but its your cheapest and easiest fix as you won't have any painting/removal and fitting involved. Just google it, and you'll find plenty of online outlets who can supply it to you.

Hope that helps.

This job should never be complete - the day I think I've done it all, is the day I resign.
