SCENIC II Sunroof rattle

I took my car in to the dealership under warrantee. One year old. I asked if the sunroof should be level and flush with the rear roof - it seems to be 7-8mm lower than the main roof. This has got to cause air flow issues and therefore must be costing me fuel too with the drag created.

They said it needed new roof bars. I took it back for them to be done two weeks later.

Since then, it rattles intermittently. It all seems to be secure. No loose screws or bolts to be seen. It just vibrates when open and less so when closed. I cannot see or feel any part that is rattling, but it does.

Any clues?

Currently in Jonah's garage:
Renault Scenic II and now my second III.

My sunroof rattled and it turned out to be the cover that slides across the sunroof to block the sun etc. When I held this tightly while driving it stopped rattling. You could try this as I presume this would've had to come out and mabey its not sitting right since. Other than that it could be the new parts bedding in?

Talking Re: SCENIC II Sunroof rattle

Hi, i'm a new member.

I have the same problem on an 08 Scenic. Sun roof rattles when driving over bumps/rough roads. Not very noticable when sun roof closed, more so when open.

Dealer checked it out under warrantly and said "sun roof operating correctly" which i took to mean "we can't be bothered".

There's nothing obviously loose, so I have to assume it is OK. It's a bit anoying, but I love the car so much I don't really care.
