Nail varnish remover. Its guaranteed to get all sticky sellotape/adhesives off of glass. Try it, it works.

The simplest way forward with regards to stickers is Methylated spirit,0.98 from B&Q,If at all possible try and peel the main part if the sticker off first the apply the methylated spirit on a cloth and Bobs your Uncle

If you can't get the car close enough, how about using a hot water bottle placed over the sticker?

You will probably still need some solvent to remove the residue, but the sticker will more than likely come off in one piece.

This job should never be complete - the day I think I've done it all, is the day I resign.

Window Stickers

[Thanks Saabguy and also Donald,
I will get 'er indoors' to get hold of some nail varnish remover.... she doesn't use the stuff that often nowadays.

Meths? Yeah.. Ok Donald, but it sure as hell ain't the best stuff in the world for adhesives.

And now it's time for old farts to eat so thanks once againand I will have a crack at it - dependant on weather - tomorrow.

I normally use Orange Solvent to get rid of stickers. It also got the marks off my headlamps after fitting diverters last year.
