Sussed it (after I'd removed the arms!), the fixing lifts up and turns through 90deg allowing the arm to be removed.

So is it possible to remove the blades without removing the wiper arms then

Why they put that stop on the arm is beyond me

It is tricky but is possible to get the blades off without removing the arms. Don't think there is a set way to do it, just try to twist the blade throug 90 degrees and some how unhook from the arm. Not so bad with the original valeo blades but a git with any others.

Also makes it a right PITA when it comes to washing your car as you can't lift the wipers off the screen.

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall.
Torque is how far you take the wall with you.
