Hold on to your piece of rubber it could be as valuable as you say. Renault no longer supply individual seal components but only kits for windows. I know on the Lag II such a kit is 160 plus) Post a picture up of the said part - maybe some one will recognise it

hahahaha, sorry madnoel I was trying to be sarcastic about Renaults over inflated prices.

It's great that you put how much it would cost, I can barely believe the price I'm reading.

The bit of rubber came off my SAAB 9-5 I had about 2 years ago, not the Renault.

Sorry, taking it a bit off topic with my 1/2 RS'd gags. LOL

I would agree it's most likely a clip or cable that has snapped.

Well, the window has started to slide down so the opening was getting bigger, fortunately this allowed me to push it up and close it properly, it wouldn't do that yesterday. I've now stuck some thick sticky pads at the bottom of the window to stop it sliding into the door (hopefully, so far so good). I'm off to Scotland tomorrow and will take the door panel off when I get back, I'll let you know how I go on.
