Just another few questions, do i have to flat the top coat down with fine grit, i am not sure you do this with metallics, then apply the laquer and buff up with cutting paste.

I got another spoiler off ebay from a scrap lag II, it looked the same colour as my car in the pic but the seller could'nt give me the paint code to check, anyway i took the gamble and lost , it was steel grey not hologramme grey, ive rubbed it down a bit so its got a matt finish ready fo the primer.

Hi there, yes you can give the top coat a light rub with very fine paper (circa 2000 grit), again its more to ensure the paint finish is level and to key the surface for lacquering. Don't go overboard with the rubbing down at this stage though. Shame about the spoiler you bought not being the right colour - that would've saved a fair bit of work. I'm away for a couple of days, in case you have any more questions - I'll get back to you as soon as I return. I'm sure the spoiler will look just fine if you take your time on it. Paul
