Some manufacturers have used the same paint code to correspond to different colours. (rather helpfully)
However, these are relatively few & far between, and can still be distinguished by the production year your car was built. i.e. they never fun concurrently, there is always a sizeable gap between production runs, such as 1977-1981, then again 1991 - 1997.
Clearly a simple error to avoid.
I would return to Halfords, and request that they supply you with the correct paint.
But don't be too harsh (unless you meet with resistance), except for the time & extra fuel, its not the end of the world.
Best of luck.
This job should never be complete - the day I think I've done it all, is the day I resign.
