I also had this problem. It isn't the drain tubes that are leaking. The drain trays are separate from the upper frame and are overflowing in heavy rain and leaking water down on to the headlining.

I removed the upper frame following the instructions above. Then turned the frame upside down and removed 6 x T20 screws each side and 4 x T20 screws at the back. You can now separate the two plastic drain trays and rear metal frame from the upper frame as a single piece (the trays are riveted to the metal frame, so don't try to separate them).

There is a sealant bead around the drain tray - this will be loose, allowing the water in the tray to leak. Either replace the sealant bead or seal it back down - I used wet-grab adhesive to seal the original bead back onto the tray and the frame, as it was in good condition.

Let this dry and then re-fit the frame, sealing it to the body panel as described above, making sure the drain tubes are clear. I used a curtain wire for this.
