Renault Laguna 2 - Door Catch Freezing

Hi wonder if anyone has experienced this situation, when the temperature drops to below -3 C it is as if the lock is freezing up,except that it allows me to open the door but will not stay closed ie.. not closing around the lock part on the car body,If allowed to heat up either with hot water or left ticking over with the heater on (can take 10 -15 mins) all is well.I have had it at the local garage who have removed the door panel and blown out the inside with hot air and lubricated with WD 40 but still the problem persists, anybody got any ideas ,cheers David M

Re: drivers door not catching when temperature drops

My door catches have developed a mind of their own in the weather we've been having of late, my boot bounces open half the time when I shut it, and the drivers door requires only a gentle push to shut - anything more and it will appear to shut, but not be lockable.

I'm assuming it's just a French car's protest about being made to function in cold weather, like the 373s (most of which were also built in France )

Re: drivers door not catching when temperature drops

My Scenic is similar. The rear boot is shut but the dashboard says it isn't and therefore cannot drive off with key in my pocket. Also cannot open the driver's door from the outside but can from the inside (no, it's not iced up)

Any solutions? Thanks
