Re: Headlight replacement on 51 palte Clio

Hi Andy!

I am afraid that I do not have any advice to give but was wondering how you solved your headlight bulb replacement problem? I am having the exact same issue with my 2001 Clio and thought the replacement procedure looked easy enough to tackle until I saw the limited amount of space you have to do it!!!

Would be grateful for any advice you or anyone else can give.

Thanks

Re: Headlight replacement on 51 palte Clio

Hello guys,
I had the same problem a while ago, it's not an easy procedure!!! Took two of us to get it done, you've just got to try a variation of holding things out of the way and getting the other one to twist, whoever has the smallest hands would be best twisting whilst the other one holds.

Also, is there any corrosion on the inside of the headlight cluster? Me and two of my mates had this problem. If there is any sign of corrosion, it's usually the actual fitting which the new bulb goes in to in which case its a new headlight cluster.

Anyway, sorry I cant be of more help, good luck with it and let me know how it goes.

Re: Headlight replacement on 51 palte Clio

I have a 2004 Clio and had the same problem, think the aircon is in the way. A lot of people say remove the bumper but you don't have to!
It's a pig of a job, move the tubes that you can out of the way, then the dust cap. I used a set of pliers to help and it is a squeeze to get it out but is doable!
Remember it only needs turning slightly and it will pop out.
Good luck!
