Sunroof wind noise

Hi, new member, Just bought a 2005 grand scenic from Cargiant and brought it back to Ireland. As you cannot properly test drive the car before purchase I didnt hear this awful whistling noise until I hit motorway speed on the way home. I have since found the problem caused by air getting in through the fully closed sunroof over the drivers head. When you press the roof on this side with your hand there is up and down movement, but not on the opposite side. After further inspection on the sunroof in the open position I notice the rear guide fits very sloppy in the plastic track, what I dont know is it the track or the guide that is worn and is repair going to be expensive

Re: Sunroof wind noise

Did you get any responses to this question or find out the solution? We have the same issue - 95 Grand Scenic where the sunroof no longer seems to fit tightly to the body. As you have found, you can push it to stop it vibrating - it has the feel of something expensive to resolve.

Re: Sunroof wind noise

probably the cheapest way is to get another sunroof from a similar car in a breakers yard.

Spare parts available for 2001 Scenic 1.9Dci, 97 Lag1, 02 Lag2.
everythings gotta go....
