Re: can i fit/replace my Clio bumper myself?
Hi there Katrina, and welcome to the forums.
I'm guessing from your mention of the headlamp - that its the front bumper which you are looking to replace?
It is realtively straightforward, and you will be helped by the fact that the replacement bumper will show the location and type of fittings involved - it really is mainly a question of access (i.e. can you physically reach all these mounting points from inside the engine bay, and from underneath), and do you have the tools & confidence to go ahead?
Realistically, removing & fitting a large body panel is a 2-person job, so again, a willing helper will more than make the job twice as easy.
If you are in any doubt - £50 isn't extortionate for the work involved (including setting up the headlamp alignment so it passes the mot), plus there is the peace of mind which will be assured by having some comeback if the work isn't done properly. Also, they get the fun of undoing the siezed bolts!
I would do it - but to me, putting a car up un axle stands or ramps isn't an issue, but its a heckuva way to commence your car DIY career.
Hope that's helped in some way.
This job should never be complete - the day I think I've done it all, is the day I resign.
