THULE are a very reputable make, also Renaul own bars will be ok.

A lot of the problems with roofbars, of any make is that a lot of people don't fit them correctly to the car. They also don't fit the load to the bars correctly. They almost never re-check the security of the load at their first stop either to make sure everything is ok.

As long as you buy specific bars for your Clio ( even HAlfords own brand) and fit both them and the load ( kayak in your case) correctly you shouldn't go far wrong.

total roofbar confusion!

Hello all - I've joined the forum on behalf of my (very!) elderly father-in-law, who has a '55 Clio Extreme, and has asked me to fit roof bars. There appear to be fixed anchor points to the rear, but nothing at the front (it has a sunroof, by the way). Does this mean you can only have one roofbar, or does the front one have to be attached in a different way?
