Undo the check strap to allow the door to open further which will improve access, and get someone to take some of the door's weight (or a trolley jack & bit of wood), if you're doing this solo.

Naturally, spray the hinge up before fitting.

what is the check strap mate....? it possible to take just the bottom hinge out only...?...without removing the door from the car and leaving only the top hinge ?..

Re: door feels like its sticking

The check strap is what prevents the door from opening close to 90 degrees.

Its usually midway between the upper & lower hinges.

You can possibly undo the hinge with this strap in place, but access will be quite limited. undoing the check strap will allow the door to open more, thus allowing more access.

You'll need to see if your socket set can fit with it in place, before you decide.

Re: door feels like its sticking

This does not have a check strap its only the housing that is shown in the first post!
I have eventually got the top off mine and its sealed with a rubber sealant and will probably need a glue gun to stick the top back on, i did pack it with copper grease to no avail - In my opinion the whole bottom hinge needs replacing & i would of thought that you could just take the bottom hinge off and replace as long as the end of the door is supported. Hope this helps
