Roof Bars

I'm looking for roof bars for my Scenic 04 - on all the sites I've looked at it states that they are only suitable for models without a sunroof. What's the difference? Would they still fit the fixings on the roof on my car even though I have a sunroof?

Hello & Welcome to the Forums Raksha.

I believe it is to do with the loading of the roof and I think there is no strips for the roofbars to locate.

I thought it was the danger of the sun roof hitting the roof bars if opened. Mines got a sun roof and it has the strips. I would suggest going to someone who would let you try them. I would suggest 3 people help. 1 each side to hold the bar in place without fixing it and someone else to open the roof. Quickly move bar if it is in the way. Worth a try.

Hi, I think the problem is with the panoramic sunroofs ... like ottoman says I think its a loading issue and the roof doesnt have the strength to talke the weight. Does your car have the blanking plates on the roof to mount the roof bars? .... if not I dont think the car is suitable, best to check with your handbook or Renault dealer, if it does then I think the roof bars must use these fixings.

Hope it helps

Why is it the older I get .... the better I think I was ?
