Need help attaching door mirror to it's casing

I have a Laguna I 1999 - this winter my girlfriend tried adjusting the right door mirror while it was frozen - ofcourse this resulted in a "snap sound" as she called it. ..when I took away the ice, the glass just fell out hanging in the two heating wires I assume.

I tried putting it back together but no such luck. Thought of glue but I cant find any place that isn't affected by the adjusting motors. Here in norway this mirror is ridiculously expensive, abt. 300,- so no....

It seems so simple, yet I can't figure out how to fasten it without locking it thus ruining the adjusting option

If someone here knows how these mirrors work or has a tip of any kind that might help I'd be very grateful.

Re: Need help attaching door mirror to it's casing

Hi there and welcome.

I've used a product called Tiger Seal successfully before. It forms a strong yet flexible bond, and is even used to secure body kits & spoilers to cars. You would need to secure the mirror in place with masking tape for a day or sao until the bond was properly made.

Another possibility is the hi-bond adhesives used to secure internal mirrors to the windscreen.

Hope this helps in some way.

This job should never be complete - the day I think I've done it all, is the day I resign.
