the steering rack comes in 3 pieces, its the end of the outer piece that's bent in that pic, it just unscrews, the joint is under the inner rubber boot. that's where mine bent when i hit a kerb in the snow.

also, when I hit the kerb in my lag at maybe 10mph the wheel bent where the thick spokes join the hub part of the wheel. it was easy to see, so i cant see that your wheel will have survived. i got a wheel and tyre off ebay for 30 and the end of the steering rack for 25+post from a breaker.

its gonna cost about 3-400 for parts and about 300 or so for a small indy garage to swap them over, a lot of the bits you could do yourself. the only real garage required bits are the steering rack and lower arm as they need the subframe to be partly dropped.

if i was any closer i'd come over to help out, (im a good 3 hours away.)
these guys are near you (about a mile south of the football stadium) they break a lot of lagunas, so you should be able to get good spares at a reasonable rate. they might do repairs as well. (worst case they can buy the wreck off you, do remember to haggle though!)

Spare parts available for 2001 Scenic 1.9Dci, 97 Lag1, 02 Lag2.
everythings gotta go....
cheap prices...

Thanks again guys your doing a great job with all the information.

Just to re-cap if anyone is local or willing to travel to Cannock Area, South Staffordshire, could really do with someone taking a look at this to give me a really good idea of what needs replacing,(although the guys on here are doing a fantastic job with the photos I'm attaching in my posts).

I've seen a 2002 Laguna on ebay for 700 with a turbo problem. Would the parts from this laguna be suitable for fitting on my 06 plate?? Having said that, the 2002 Lag on ebay has done 170k so maybe not the best car to be buying for replacing steering and suspension parts, but if you could advise on what model year i can go back to.

Looking at the damage to the suspension,I think I personally would walk away from the car and get rid of it.There's been an awful lot of force gone through the right hand corner and I wouldn't be surprised if the subframe is either bent or moved on it's mountings.

I personally reckon that you'll be paying an awful lot more than Mords prices for the parts, and even with all of the obviously bent suspension and steering components replaced you will probably still find that it won't drive any sense at all and that the alignment will show some discrepencies......

IMHO it's not worth it,sorry.

I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....

Let me know what you think about the pictures.

Having now seen the pictures of the damage done to the suspension and steering I am affraid I will have to go back on my first thought about getting it repaired It has taken a hell of a whack. Sourcing second hand parts is also a lottery which you don't always win I'm affraid Probably best to cut your losses and let the car go. Sorry from me as well
