Hi i have a 55 reg scenic 1.9 dci. I have only had it a few weeks and it is slowly driving me and Mrs rob mad due to a noise in the drivers door . It is like a tinny rattle as if a wire or something is hitting metal if that makes any sense at all please help.
Rob
Ps. is it easy to get the inner door panel off to have a look any tips before i have a go and damage something. Thanks.
Rob.
Thank you for having a look guys but i have solved the problem.
And how stupid do i feel i stripped the door down and after looking for about 15 mins i found the little plastic square on the out side of the door behind the handle was loose and rattling
:loser:
So i put a thin o ring around the plastic piece and that cured it.
Rob.....
Hi Rob:
I am having the same problem with my Scenic an annoying little metallic rattle from the drivers door just by my shoulder. Could you possibly post any pics of where you located your fault and the cure as I have looked and cant seem to find anything loose on the outside door handle.
Let me know how you managed to cure this annoying problem please as its driving me mad
Cheers
I had this - drove me mad. Luckily I found the cause before I took off the inner door panel.
I eased the plastic bit off and put a dollop of clear glue around the edge.
Hello there, i have just brought a clio 2006 and i have started to get a little rattling noise coming from the drivers door and passengers door when i go over say 30mph and its worse when i go over a rough road, do you have any ideas on how i can get rid of it ?
Hi
Sorry I don't have any pics and I don't own the car any more. But the rattle was coming from a small square piece of plastic on the out side of the door. It is behind the door handle in the indent in the door for you to put your hand in to open the door.
I would suggest popping the plastic out carefully with a screwdriver , then putting a bit of silicone sealant ore glue on and put it back.
Hope this helps
Cheers Rob:
I found the black plastic square on the door under the handle (how did I miss that !) gently prised it off a touch of silicon then back on, job done.
Hurrah ! no rattle.
Cheers.:d
