Towbar, bumper cutting or not.

I want to put a towbar on my 53 plate Scenic II, but it seems that bumper cutting is required. I don't want a swan neck type, as my bike rack won't fit and I think it looks a bit like a kn*b poking out from under the bumper
No offense to anyone that has one.

Anybody done this job without cutting?

Well I do have a kn*b, and I'm definitely not offended

Just had a quick Google, and the Witter flange bar seems to fit without a visible bumper cut.

It would appear that most cars have some sort of under-tray these days that requires cutting. My Laguna III did too. I wouldn't worry too much, as the cut is only visible from underneath the car.

Re: Towbar, bumper cutting or not.

Yes, it was the Witter one that I looked at as I have always had them on my cars.
Their website said that a 20mm by 60mm cut was required. Probably not visible as you say, but I don't want to cut really as I am concerned that cracks could spread from any cuts in the plastic.

I think I'll pop up to my local towbar fitting place, see what they can recommend or supply even though I am going to do the job myself.

Might be that I go for a kn*b afterall.

Ooops. Perhaps I should rephrase that?

Looked at the Witter one again and might be that only the Grand Scenic needs a bumper cut.
