Re: Scenic II how to remove powerfold mirrors
Does anyone know how to take the mirror assembly off a Scenic II?
The door switch on my Scenic just started smoking and when I levered it out, it had burnt the contacts inside.
I think this is because the switch was left in the powerfold position and only only the n/s mirror works like this, or tries to.
The o/s mirror has been damaged at some point and replaced with a non powerfold one or so I thought. It now looks like the reason it doesn't fold, by hand or power is because it has been glued in place. It will not budge at all.
Anyone know how to remove the whole thing so I can have a look at it or just replace it with a powerfold one? I will need a new switch too of course, but that's easy.
if you open the door you will see the inner mounting screw, remove that and then whilst supporting the mirror remove the outer retaining screw, withdraw the mirror and disconnect the wiring plug.
As regards the switch, there is a huge thread started by a member who calls himself "fireball scenic" iirc check out the posts
