Question Megane II water leak

I'm trying to establish whether the water leak on my 2006 Megane is unique to me because my local Renault dealership is adamant it is. It's always the same excuse; your scuttle plates are blocked and that is causing the water to run inside the car. But where I live there are six other cars of different makes & years yet no one in the 4 years I've owned the car has ever had this problem. The Megane is due to go back to the dealer for the 3rd time now so if anyone has had a similar problem could you please respond because I am sick of been fobbed off with "we've never had this problem with any other Meganes"

Hello & welcome to the forum whitecloud

I'm afraid to say this won't be of any help at all but mines never had such a problem, thank Gawd.

Re: Megane II water leak

If the leaks are infact due to blocked scuttle drains you are in good company. It's a fairly common problem especially after the Autumn months and not just on Renaults I'm afraid. To clean the drains properly I suggest not only the top ends be checked but also the lower outlet end which terminate behind the front wheel arch liners.

Just had to clean the drains on my Honda and my mates Pug. Oh and my neighbours VW Golf flooded last week - same problem.

Tell your dealer this is a common problem in many makes of cars.
