54 Plate Scenic new electronic handbrake not releasing
A couple of weeks ago the electronic handbrake wouldn't release on my Scenic until I gave it lots of revs and it managed to pull away (uphill)
I was then getting a "electronic fault" on the dashboard whenever I attempted to reverse the car, and the handbrake wouldn't release until I gave it lots of revs and it was actually moving with the handbrake engaged!
A local auto electrics diagnosed a faulty handbrake, £600 later I have the car back and it's been fine this week until today...
I parked the car on a inclined driveway, when I came to leave the handbrake wouldn't release until I gave loads of revs again (in reverse) which then resulted in a "check parking brake" message on the dash which eventually cleared.
However, the parking brake isn't releasing again until I give it lots of revs and the car begins to move with the handbrake engaged, so I'm paranoid about driving it.
The same "check parking brake" message is appearing whenever I put the car in reverse and attempt to move.
I can't believe the number of problems I've had with these electronic hand rakes, and especially with a brand new renault dealer part :-(
Is this a common problem? Is there a simple fix?
