All the best with your new purchase, I hope the sat nav can be fixed economically. Dings along the side are quite common (the first time you park in a standard space will prove why - they are wide cars). A tip for you, always fold the mirrors (rotate the mirror adjustment knob until it points down), as this will reduce the risk of them being clouted/broken.
Don't know about the keycards, I would suspect that Renault would be the best place to source & code new ones (just in case of problems with the card being read).
I'm also not sure about the 3-button cards, sure the Vel is still available new on mainland Europe, so would use the current set-up, but whether the older management system is the same and can be re-programmed, I don't know.
Personally speaking, I wouldn't try to introduce new hurdles to overcome - if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
