by all means choose a Megane mate but just not a 1.6VVT K4M engine type cause from the look of it theres some serious issues that even Renault dont acknoledge as being an issue.

1. stuttering to stall in first gear on every biting point
2. coils quite often fail
3. Dephaser pulley fault that reno know about
4. leaking window seals
5. engine cuts out on cold starts and take 5-6 times to get t going
6. very low mpg compared to the stated 40

also Reno dealers aren't interested in you when you leave the forecourt, so its basically like it or lump it. They quite often tell you that if they cant pick anything up on thier CLIP machine then theres nothing wrong, but ohoohhhh when an MOT needs down you seem to develop all sorts of problems. and the brakes squeal

Save your cash buy better and have a very very very good think before you hand over any money and do some serious research on Renault Megane II Owners Club :: Homepage before you think of buying a megane cause since i became a member there i've experienced all of the problems that people on there complain about day in day out.

be careful
