Hope you get a fair insurance this kind of incident you are better off looking at a total loss than a part damaged car having a rebuild, which may never have been 100% right after repair, especially on a 2 year old car.

Yes it was a petrol.
The car did stall only for about 20-30seconds though. (The water only went just past my ankles)

I'm not sure, someone I spoke to said it was probably a con-rod. I don't think I had water in the oil - I had it serviced by Renault at 36000 miles on the 04/03/14 then the incident happened on 26/03/14.

I don't know if this would be a warranty issue or through my insurance?? (Really I'm sure its insurance, but oh well).
