Immobiliser help

Despite Renaults diagnosis that I need a new injection ECU at a cost of 600+ it appears that it works but has "forgotten" the key code - both keys seem to work, they LED flashes, the blue light is visble through a mobile camera and they operate the central locking. They just don't disarm the immobiliser.

I'm almost convinced that if the code could be re-entered or bypassed that the car would work. Is there a reliable, established way of achieving either which costs less than 600?
