Welcome to the forum.
If the car is misfiring,then it's not a good idea to drive it too much.The unburnt fuel will quickly wreck the catalytic converter making the problem worse and more expensive to fix.
I'm guessing that you have the Volvo engine in yours,and from memory I think that has a distributor and rotor arm???.I would definaterly check the cap and arm,and if all seems well there,then I would next have a compression check done.
Are there any warning lights on at all?
I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....
