I have a 04 1.5dci clio and have had to replace the bulbs behind the radio display. It does involve removing the upper dash trim. The steering column upper shroud needs to be removed and the A pillar trim shrouds each side of the front windon. Trim above the glove box and on the right side above the headlight adjustment switch need to be unclipped to gain access to the lower retaining screws.
There is also a screw each side of the upper dash trim above the fuse box and on the right side in a simular position. and there are a number of screws on the top of the dash in the window air vent.
I bought my bulbs first only to find they where the wrong ones. so I had to take the old bulbs out first to make sure renault spares gave me the correct ones for the year of the car.
Hope some of this helps. It does show how to do this in the Haynes manual if you can get on.
