In this day and age, owners should not be required to maintain something so innocuous as a bonnet catch. It's fair enough to say we should know about checking tyre pressures and oil levels etc, but saying that we should be maintaining the bonnet catch is like the equivalent of asking us to grease the door hinges - it shouldn't need to be done by the owner.

P.S. I think the bonnet catch is on the passenger side because Renault were too lazy to move it when making right hand drive cars.
