Thanks, that's brilliant. I hope our list admininstrator captures stuff like this for everyone's use...
A quick calc shows that if I swap to 185/55 the rolling circomference will be about 97% of the stock /60/, so presumably it'll be revving that percent higher at a given speed in the gears and the speedo will over-read by the same percentage.
I hear that factory speedos can be plus or minus 5% anyway, so I'm not too worried about that. Will I notice the extra acceleration? How about the extra fuel consumption?!
On balance now I probably prefer your 195/55 idea, if my wheel is suitable. A wider and lower profile tyre yet virtually the same circumference as stock. Albeit for about 10% more money!
