That shouldn't introduce air into the ABS valve block as the caliper is after this!

The only way you could get air into the valve block doing what you were doing is if the reservoir was empty and you kept on bleeding the brakes so the air got down as far as the valve block.

I think you need to bleed the brakes again, keep the reservoir topped up during the procedure and only press the brake pedal half way down when bleeding, don't push it right to the floor as this could damage the master cylinder seals.
