If you look closely at cars which have wheel studs rather than bolts the studs are never screwed in - they are always captive - usually from the rear of the hub using interference fit splines. Plus the downside of fitting the stud conversion that there is nothing stopping the stud from unscrewing next time you remove the wheels so you would be back to square one. One other thing to consider is that good quality wheel bolt or stud threads are not cut but rolled or forged - a process which reduces the risk of metal fatique.
