I wouldn't argue with anyone regarding how they should or shouldn't wash their car, it's up to them.

I've owned a couple of this type of brush & used them on a bright red R.21 a dark blue metallic Lag 1, a fire red metallic Lag 2, a gold Megane & now a pure white Toyota. also my Daughter uses the same on her jet black Yaris.

My conclusions are in any light indicates, (to me anyway) there is no damage caused whatsoever on any of the car colours listed above.

In fact I'd suggest that it's far more risky using your local auto car wash, I keep that type of equipment very much at arms length.
