Hello and welcome to the forum.
To start with I'd jack the front of the car up and have a look at the front CV gaiters. If one is split and the joint has lost it's grease, then this should give you a clue as to where the noise is coming from.
springs are common,so whilst it's off the ground inspect the ends of the springs carefully. Also, turn the wheel from side to side as strut bearings have a tendency to wear and be noisy. The bearing is a slightly strange arrangement as it's between the bottom spring pan and the strut rather than in the top of the strut on most other cars.
Also, take a wheel off and check the front discs and pads. When I bought my Lag 1 some tosspot had fitted new pads to badly worn discs and this caused a sqeaking/grating noise when driving.
If all seems well with the above, then get back to us as I'm sure we can come up with some more ideas!
Good luck and let us know how you get on.
I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....
