Tyre pressure sensors (disabling)

Have just managed to find a renault dealer that will turn of the pesky Tyre Pressure monitoring system on my Lag 2. They said they needed authorisation from my insurance company to do this as they didnt want to be held accountable for an accident ! what a load of tosh - most cars dont have that system fitted, and I'll know if I've got a flat !

Anyways, rang my insurance company and they have no problem with getting the TPM system switched off, and are sending me a letter to take to my renault dealer to show them. And all its gonna cost is 35.25 and take 30 mins. Much cheaper than the 170 pounds they quoted for two tyre sensors, fitting and reprogramming !
