It does sound like a problem with alarm or locking.
Does it say anything in the handbook?.Sometimes a certain fault is indicated by the indicators staying on.Also,it could be the battery is faulty which causes the light to come on,rather than the light coming on and flattening the battery.If the car electrical system drops below 10 volts or so it will cause allsorts of strage things to happen.
I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....
