Have you tried a car with Xenon lamps?.
I have a Laguna 11 with them and in my opinion they are the worst headlights I have ever had, my 1967 Vauxhall Viva 1157cc F Reg had it beat! That might not be true but I certainly don't rate them.
I would consider paying to have ordinary halogens retrofitted, as for the auto levelling, it's almost like going over a bump twice, once for real and once more whilst the headlights catch up, it can be good fun when you get bored and brake hard just to watch them catch up.
The washers stick up when they feel like it and you then look through very poor lights with about ten almost vertical lines through them (anyone know how to make these stalks retract, I have tried WD40 and 3 in 1 which lasts for a day or so).
I think they are too low on my car but to adjust them is a specialist job, I have enough invoices to pay just keeping this car on the road so cannot afford any luxury's like handlamp adjustment. Good Luck with it JimmyO but IMHO I would save my money.
