Well, I did it. Got her running tonight after charging the battery.
Managed to get a secondhand head from a scrapper for 50 quid, condition very good, just needed a good clean. Gaskets, belts, head bolts and a few other bits for £150.
The inlet valves were all bent and the piston crowns were marked slightly but nothing serious there.
I took my time and made sure I did a good job, at least the sun was shining!
Only problem to appear is the thing runs a bit too fast, so any thoughts would be appreciated on that.
Now for an MoT test and Tax, nearly there.
