Ummm....so the handbook simply says under "Closing the Bonnet"....I am paraphrasing the verbirage:
1. Close the bonnet.
2. Check it's closed.
Not really rocket science hey?
...and isn't this what we all do....what it fails to mention (which is Renault's liability) is ANYTHING to do with maintenance, and more importantly if there is a chance that maintenance causes the bonnet to "not close properly", then this should be clearly noted in the manual as a liability disclaimer...without doing so, Renault are simply liable 100%.....AND even if they did put it in the manual, all this will confirm is that the Renault catches are liable to not "close properly"....
Load of rubbish IMHO, take it all with a pinch of salt, and go back to them saying they are liable and ask them to cough up!!!!
