Unhappy The dreaded turbo self destruct...

... put it another way, how can you health check a car for this? Say I dose it with fully synthetic every 9k miles - fooked it'll be 18k! - check the EGR valve is clean; no smoke from the exhaust, smooth power and no wierd turbo noise - is that sufficient?

Or should you get a turbo boost check...?
